I parked my Indian next to a BMW motorcycle that looked fully loaded for long distance travel. A moment later, the owner came out, speaking to me in English. He was asking me all sorts of questions about how to ride in the snow. Proudly, I showed him the Indian’s tires, explaining the advantages of a wider base. I also explained how I had let out some air from each tire to increase their surface area and provide better traction in the snow. Excited with what he had learned, the man let out air from each tire, leaving them both rather flat, and rode off to the South. I watched him leave, a bit concerned.
